Three months after dismantling Varman's smuggling operations and killing his son Arjun, Muthuvel Pandian lives a secluded life with his family near the [[Kerala–Tamil Nadu border, working as a supermarket supervisor. His family remains unaware that he was responsible for Arjun's death. Meanwhile, Varman's close friend and associate, Dileep, an eccentric idol smuggler, hires an investigator named Mukund to identify Varman's killer.
Muthuvel is manipulated by Moorthi, a fruit shop owner and self-proclaimed gangster, into becoming his driver. During this time, he encounters Vimal, who has since become involved in idol smuggling. Recognising an opportunity to infiltrate Dileep's operations, Muthuvel secretly arranges for Moorthi to establish contact with Dileep through Vimal while maintaining his identity as an ordinary driver. However, Mukund's investigation eventually leads to Muthuvel's identification after his image is captured during the filming of a song sequence for actor Blast Mohan's upcoming film.
Dileep subsequently corners Muthuvel at a facility while his henchmen surround Muthuvel's family home. However, Muthuvel reveals that he anticipated the attack and had planted several infiltrators within Dileep's organisation, who eliminate his men. Meanwhile, Muthuvel's family is rescued by his former associates Mathew, Narasimha and Kamdev. Muthuvel then strikes a deal with Dileep and his associate Ameer to eliminate Bodhi Kalpak, the leader of the larger idol-smuggling network. Bodhi is the son of Chakri Kalpak and oversees the organisation alongside his siblings Kantha, Ved and Sharva.
Dileep attempts to assassinate Bodhi, but Ameer betrays and kills Dileep instead, demonstrating his loyalty to the Kalpak family and assuming Dileep's position within the organisation. In retaliation for Muthuvel's interference, Bodhi orders an attack on Narasimha, leaving him critically injured, while his wife and son are abducted and taken to the Kalpak family's estate in Goa, which serves as a centre for their international idol-smuggling operations.
Bodhi subsequently meets Muthuvel and demands the return of three containers containing smuggled idols that Muthuvel and Mathew had intercepted during Varman's earlier operations. Muthuvel agrees and arranges to deliver the containers during Chakri's birthday celebrations. However, he secretly rigs them with explosives and detonates them during the event, using the ensuing chaos to capture Chakri. A compromise is subsequently reached, with Muthuvel releasing Chakri in exchange for Narasimha's family. Despite the agreement, Bodhi sends assassins after Muthuvel. Having planted a tracking device on Chakri, Muthuvel anticipates the attack and lures the assassins into a building, which he destroys with explosives.
Bodhi later captures Debnath and drugs him into revealing that Muthuvel had personally killed Arjun. Bodhi discloses this information to Muthuvel's wife Viji, daughter-in-law Swetha and grandson Rithvik. Devastated by the revelation, Viji reports Muthuvel to the police, resulting in his arrest. However, Bodhi subsequently abducts Muthuvel's family and threatens to kill them unless he surrenders the remaining containers.
While imprisoned, Muthuvel seeks assistance from Roddy, another reformed criminal and former associate, who orchestrates his escape and deploys his assassins to rescue Muthuvel's family. Muthuvel launches a final assault against the Kalpak organisation, killing Ved and Sharva. During the confrontation, Chakri accidentally causes his own death while attempting to kill Muthuvel, while Kantha is severely injured. Bodhi attempts to flee aboard an aircraft, but Muthuvel, with the assistance of Mathew, Narasimha and Kamdev, destroys the aircraft, killing Bodhi and bringing down the organisation.
Two weeks later, Muthuvel voluntarily surrenders to the police for Arjun's murder. As he enters a police vehicle, an unidentified police officer unexpectedly hands him a phone. On the other end of the call is Kantha, who has survived the confrontation, leaving Muthuvel's fate uncertain.
